A few months ago I was on Facebook and a friend of mine, Brooke, posted about the Dirty Girl Mud Run in South Wales, NY. I couldn't help but want to know more. So I asked her about it and checked out the website,
godirtygirl.com. I quickly learned it is a military inspired obstacle course 5k. With everything from a wall climb to a mud pit. And to make things better a portion of all proceeds go towards breast cancer research, awareness and education. I definitely wanted to be a part of it all! So on Saturday I met up with Brooke and the rest of our team, The Mud Mamas at the Allegany-Limestone High School. We made our way up to South Wales and were ready to have a blast! I don't think anyone could be in that atmosphere without feeling pumped! I have to admit I was a bit intimidated at first. I'm not exactly "in shape" so I was a bit worried about being able to keep up with my team and make it through all of the obstacles, but once we started all of those thoughts disapeared. And when we made it to the end, I was bummed that it was over. I've never been so happy to be so filthy and do it for a good cause!
